VOLUNTEER WORK

FOUNDING MEMBER: I'll Have What She's Having                   Houston, TX        Sept. 2017 - Present

Founding member of this newly formed collective of women chefs, hospitality professionals, entrepreneurs, physicians, scientists, and artists joining forces in support of women’s health and producing a regular program of fundraising events around the city. Our inaugural event, which was held on September 19, 2017, raised $5,000 for Trinity Gardens Church of Christ on Houston’s north side, a beneficiary that was identified as a result of my personal connections. The church is targeting the funds in support of women in the Kashmere Gardens, Trinity Gardens, and Fifth Ward neighborhoods as they recovery from Hurricane Harvey. To date, IHWSH has raised close to $40,000. The fundraising goal for this fiscal year is $1 million.

FLOWER MAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE: Project Row Houses       Houston, TX        Fall 2015

Served as part of an advisory committee whose members worked together with Project Row Houses to determine and execute an appropriate and lasting way to commemorate Cleveland Turner, aka The Flower Man, and celebrate his life’s work. I was responsible for documenting Mr. Tuner’s home inside and out to take an inventory of its contents prior to demolition and establish a visual archive of the unique folk environment created by this beloved Houston artist.
